We are going to move the routers ams-1-6k and ams-5-6k on GLOBALSWITCH Amsterdam in a suite dedicated to OVH. We are going also to migrate the 10G links between Roubaix and Amsterdam on the new 100G Infinera
equipments (chassis DTN-X).
We start with the migration of ams-1-6k
Planned tonight starting at 00:00 CET
Update(s):
Date: 2013-03-13 06:37:59 UTC The router is online. We set back all peering and traffic is restored.
Date: 2013-03-13 06:37:15 UTC The router is isolated.We turned it off and moved it to the new room.
Date: 2013-03-13 06:36:32 UTC We will start the migration.
We are isolating ams-5-6k.
Date: 2013-03-12 06:12:11 UTC The migration of the router ams-1-6k is done. We will be intervening again tomorrow on the second router: ams-5-6k.
The optical path between Roubaix and ams-1-6k goes actually by London, the latency of the traffic which flows through this is penalised by 3ms (around 8ms for rbx > ams rather than 5ms usually). Back to normal performances on Thursday thereafter upgrading the optical link Roubaix > Brussels > Amsterdam to 100G.
Date: 2013-03-12 06:06:19 UTC Works will finish in Amsterdam. Few backup links are remaining to be remounted. The traffic will flow normally.
Date: 2013-03-12 00:21:13 UTC The router is off. Our team on site is transporting it in the new room where we'll switch it on then reconnect it on DTN-X.
Date: 2013-03-11 23:58:14 UTC We are starting work. We are isolating the network recovery.
