FS#20462 — vScope
Scheduled Maintenance Report for Hosted Private Cloud
Completed
Hello,

As part of the continuous developpment of the vScope, we are going to migrate the vScope backend to its new version.

This migration will cause an unavailibity of the vScope from 5 to 10 minutes. Cut corresponding to the time before a new collect.

For those using the API V6 to get vScope information, there will be unavailable until your infrastructure has been migrated to the new backend.

Indeed, the API can only have one endpoint. We wil migrate from the old backend to the new at the beginning of the maintenance.

No improvement will be done on the interface in the meantime.

In order to update the interface, it’s necessary to migrate to the new backend.

The goad of this new backend is to bring the following points:

- HA on the infrastructure. Currently, the vScope works with a RO/RW standalone gateway system. If a gateway goes down, the service is unavailable. With those new gateways, a load balancing system has been implemented leaving all failure transparent to the user.

- Better maintenance enhancement. Thanks to load balancing, we can easily get off a node from the cluster in order to apply last patches and restart it without impact on production

- Growth improvement. In case of high load, we can now add new nodes in the cluster in order to reduce this load. This point was important for the APIv6.

- Backup new features. As the vScope is also used by the web plugins, we added the backup feature (Veeam). You will be soon able to use backup plugin from web client thanks to this migration.

- Better security enhancement. Use of NSX for firewalling and load balancing.

- Migrate BHS1A vScope backend to Canada. (Currently all zones are managed in France). Will reduce latency. Was necessary for Canadian APIv6

This maintenance will start at 8AM, Monday 26th of September.

You will receive by email the time where the maintenance will impact your infrastructure.

You can also follow this maintenance on ManagerV6 in the “Operations” tab.
